We visited this charming family-run restaurant on the last day of our holidays as recommended by a local friend, and it was the perfect way to end our trip. The place has a beautiful beer garden outside and a cozy, traditional ambiance inside, complete with lovely wood carvings. The customer service was incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. The food was outstanding—my granddad enjoyed the venison ragout, my grandma loved the spinach mountain cheese dumplings, and I had the Schwäbische Geschichte. The quality and quantity were exceptional, and the prices were more than reasonable. We finished the meal with plum dumplings and vanilla sauce, which were absolutely to die for. We enjoyed it so much that we're already planning a return trip just to dine here again. Highly recommend! Edit: We loved it so much that we came back nine months later—this time for a few days—and stayed overnight. The rooms are just as charming as the restaurant: lovely, spotlessly clean, and wonderfully quiet. It was the perfect place to relax, and made our return visit even more special. The “Marillenknödel” are a must try!!

I really enjoyed thI'lle old-world charm of the restaurant. The service was excellent. We were greeted and welcomed in with a heart-felt smile. We ordered drinks, salads, entrees, and desserts. Course after course, the food was amazing! Cooked from medium-rare to well-done, our food was cooked to perfection and exactly to preference & taste. I had the deer, which was tender and succulent. It was topped with half of a pear and priesel berries and rested in a delicious gravy. I ordered the whiskey before my meal.

You don’t know how long I have waited for this. Venison Goulash with home made teardrop Spätzle under a chestnut tree enjoying the last days of summer. Absolutely delicious. Always a great meal here.
