Restaurant STERNTALER : Merkurstraße 8, 76530 Baden-Baden

We were more disappointed than satisfied with our visit to this restaurant, even though we booked it in advance as a place to dine in during our first visit in Baden Baden and were really looking forward to it. At first, the prices differ and are higher from what the restaurant posted on their website. After we told this to the waiter he said they don’t take care of website info 😟🤦‍♀️ The second, some dishes could not be ordered due to the fact that that was the last working week of the cook 🤔 the third, waiter forgot about desserts we ordered and was trying to turn out the situation that we did not order them 🤦‍♀️ the fourth, we were placed by the entrance near the kitchen, and at first thought it’s because the place would be full, but in the end it was almost empty and the waiter probably just did not want to have long walks 😏😄 Two stars only for central location of this place and that some of the ordered dishes tasted not bad.

Good food, home-style cooking. The staff is nice, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance and decor are nothing special, but okay. The restaurant is clean and tidy. The price/performance ratio is fair... overall, I recommend it with reservations...

Went to the Candellight Diner at Sterntaler on July 21, 2019...nice, elegant atmosphere...Yesterday, however, only 2 tables were occupied, so it wasn't so comfortable. We were able to choose our dinner from 2 dishes each: starter, main course and dessert. Service attentive and polite, just quite stiff. The food is freshly prepared and tastes excellent... I really recommend the cuisine. It would be nicer if these dinners took place on certain evenings and there was this candellight atmosphere on every table and throughout the entire restaurant... That's how you do it whenever you want... candlesticks on the table, a bit of lace on the tablecloth... done... There's just that certain romantic atmosphere missing... That's why only 4 stars... The food is, as I said, excellent. Highly recommended!
