This place is a diamond in the rough! It's a little off of the beaten path but we'll worth worth the visit. Very nice clean place relaxed atmosphere, well known by the locals. Excellent food! Great service a great experience. Unfortunately the weather would not cooperate so we didn't get to enjoy the beautiful beer garden on site. Highly recommend!

I had received an email soon after my booking that stated - “checkins on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays are done by phone.” The email explicitly asked me to call two different phone numbers to initiate a phone checkin upon my arrival. I did just that - there was no answer. Ultimately, I decided to walk up to the hotel entrance and my first interaction was with the owner Markus. To my horror, this gentleman literally rolled his eyes, threw his hands up in the air, grabbed the door handle (opened and close the door next to me) and exclaimed - “LOOK WE ARE OPEN!!” He then rolled his eyes again and walked off into the kitchen. I stood there in disbelief for a second. He was clearly bothered because they were serving people at the restaurant and I tried calling them instead of just walking up? Well, maybe don’t send a misinforming email to start with! The email I had received was signed by this same individual mind you. And irrespective of the circumstances, this kind of behavior is just unwarranted and unacceptable. Truly the most horrendous “welcome” to any hotel I have ever been to. Then at checkout, I was handed a bill for the two nights of tariff. I told the lady that I have already paid. She went and checked with the owner and came back and told me “He is coming. The boss.” I waited for a while, then someone else came down and confirmed the information I had given. To be fair, the people working at this establishment (like the nice person that helped me with my luggage from the car and the person that checked me out) were very warm and kind. I cannot say the same about the people at the top. As a person of south Asian descent, I felt the treatment at this hotel was unwelcoming and cold from the moment i stepped foot in this establishment. Needless to say, I would not be returning here and would not recommend to anyone, especially anyone of diverse ethnicity.

This gasthof is a very nice place. We stayed there for only one night and felt a warm welcome from the very beginning. The dinner with the red wine was amazing. Very friendly staff who it was easy to communicate with even though my German language skills are not the best .I highly recommend this place.
