Woooow… what can we say about Maternus is beyond words! We had an extremely pleasant time there, with a very good tradicional food. And not to mention the staff, which is also part of the experience. We were here for the goose as we heard before that it is good but we were very disappointed. We had a reservation which you need for this time of year here, the atmosphere is nice but kinda falling apart, the lamps were barely hanging of the wall and flickered if you leaned back. For food we all had the goose and after a while it came, the waiting time wasn't to bad but it wasn't short. We all got 3 potato dumplings and a bit of red cabbage, the dumplings were good but small and the red cabbage was only ok. Now the goose, it was definitely disappointing, the crust was good but everything tasted and smelled like a weird smoke, I don't really know how to explain it, almost like cigar smoke. After we told the waitress she went to the kitchen and said she'd come back... Which she didn't. In the end it was rather disappointing and we didn't get any discount on the bad goose and it was very expensive:/
