Small, cozy inn with delicious Swabian cuisine, tucked away on the edge of the forest. Food: Ordering a schnitzel with fries and salad is actually a must for me. You can't even imagine how much I always look forward to it. The salad is super fresh and very well seasoned. The schnitzel practically melts in your mouth. And that delicious sauce with the fries. Mmm. The menu is manageable, but that's not a bad thing, as the dishes on offer are excellent. Sometimes less is more, as long as the flavors are right. The food is served quite quickly. Value for money: For me, the prices are clearly justified. Especially for what you get on your plate. The portions are large and plentiful. I think everyone will be full. The service is super friendly and prompt. Reservations: Since the restaurant is only open three days a week and is always very busy, even to the point of being fully booked, a reservation is generally necessary. Otherwise, in the worst case scenario, there might not be any space, as space is naturally limited. Conclusion: One of my favorite restaurants, even as a child. It's a very unassuming restaurant from the outside. However, the food has remained consistently tasty over the years. If you haven't been there yet, you shouldn't miss it. It's definitely worth a visit.
We went to the Gasthaus Waldeck in Gärtringen for the first time this afternoon. The furnishings are very rustic and beautiful; a Bullerjahn wood stove in the pergola provided very pleasant warmth. There is a playground for children and things and memories in the inn. We had onion roast beef, cheese spaetzle, schnitzel and chicken nuggets. The quality of the food was very good and tasted very tasty. The onion roast was fried medium to perfection, two large pieces and there was also spaetzle and salad. The potato salad was amazing. We will definitely eat there more often in the future.
Delicious, varied food at a fair price. It's incredibly cozy in the Jägerstube or Pergola. There's a great beer garden and playground, all in a quiet location. The entire Waldeck team is very friendly, and the service is always prompt. Not only Swabians feel at home here—a definite recommendation.
