A very German location, the food is amazingly good, the schnitzel covered in cheese was a bit gooey and the cheese had strong flavor (bit expected since European cheese) the location is not so easy to find, you definitely need a car and a local. But the experience was extraordinary! The only backfire I could think of there are to waitress, everything is self service. Oh and there are no Pepsi products…

Another great Bierkeller on the Kreuzberg, near Forchheim. It's amazing that there can be so many great places in such a small area and the people in this area should (and certainly do) count their blessings. As much as we love Roppelts Keller about a 20 minute walk away, we still ate a Schäuferla here the last time in the area and they have some great beer here, as well, including quite a nice Rauchbier. It's quite atmospheric, too and the walk through the forest is a perfect prelude to enjoying your time on the Berg.
