The food is excellent, really Franconian and very tasty! Highly recommended! The staff was more than friendly and simply great!

My friend and I were on our 2. day of a cross-state cycling tour and when the weather turned frosty and rainy, we decided to stop in Gunzenhausen for the night. This inn is very conveniently located at the entrance of the town, not far from the town square and the owner welcomed us so nicely, even though he was busy managing the kitchen. The inn offers a small garage space around the corner, where you can leave your bicycle for the night - even multiple power outlets for E-bikes !) and the garage is locked, so you only have to put a lock on your bike. The room was very spacious and very much value for money. Each bedside table had a power outlet for 2 plugs and 2 USB-ports, which was really great to charge our multiple electronics over night for light/navigation/phone at the same time. The food was amazing and prepared with a lot of care and the staff clearly loves what they do and we enjoyed staying for the night. The breakfast is buffet-style, but we didn't see any lactose-free milk alternatives, not an issue for me, but make a note of that.
