Hotel Restaurant Helmerhof : Frauenbergstraße 9, 87645 Schwangau

Very delicious food, beautiful restaurant. They also have very nice kids menu.

This was our first time traveling to Germany and this was the first hotel of our trip. We loved the quaint look of the hotel, and since it was snowing, it was even more beautiful! The room was nice, I believe we ended up with a smoking room, but the smell was not bad. It did get warm, but we were able to get fresh air by opening the door to the balcony. We dined in the restaurant and since had early time, it was very private with a view of the patio and snow. The server was very friendly and communicated well with us as we spoke English. The food was delicious. We had a mix up with breakfast as we accidentally slept past our reservation time(jet lag!) We were put at a table but when we can back from getting our food, there was someone else's items at the table. Then it looked as if we had taken their table, but no big deal. We enjoyed the area and would love to come back to visit and would stay here again.

Fantastic location with amazing view to the mountains and Neuschwanstein castle. Great breakfast with a huge selection of everything. Tasty meals for dinner, great beer and snaps. Super comfortable bed in the room. I am sad we couldn't stay longer :/
