Sen Viet Cuisine Bistro : Rote Str. 18, 37073 Göttingen

I stumbled onto a Vietnamese eatery in a new country that revives the flavours of home. The proprietor and employees are like family. Vietnamese cuisine is quite flavourful, and while German spices and ingredients can't fully replicate the original taste, they are nonetheless excellent. The restaurant will occasionally thank you with sweets. I'll come and savour the Duck Bamboo Shoot Vermicelli if I get the opportunity.

The staff are very insolent and terrible racists. I went with a friend to the restaurant today, being the 14th of December 2024, and a woman rudely and sternly asked us to sit at a particular table. We politely asked if we could sit at the table beside the window and she angrily replied saying “No”, still rudely, and forced us to sit at the table she had earlier pointed to us. The woman did not ask us if we made any reservations for a table or not. Shortly after, two ladies walked in, and she let them sit at the table beside the window, without even asking them if they have made any reservations for a particular table online. She did not direct them to any table, but just allowed them to go wherever they wished. Another set of people walked in and she never directed them to any table. I asked one of the waiters why the woman was rude to us, and he said “well, she is the boss here”, acknowledging that the boss can treat any customer however she feels. The staff are very racist and treat customers just anyhow they want to. They have no standard rules in being respectful to customers and it’s really bad for a business to be run with such recklessness towards customers.

I just admire it, when the staff greet you with a smile and friendliness! The food was also warm and good, and served super quick.
