We were the only guests on Sunday and were given very surprised looks when we asked for food, but we finally got something. The dining room wasn't heated in January, with temperatures around freezing; the maximum temperature was 15 degrees. The fried potatoes were homemade and tasty, but the schnitzel was topped with imitation cheese, and the "Sauarsch" turned out to be 2-3mm thick slices of cold roast, with only a few different spices sprinkled over it, and it was dry and chewy. A little "green stuff" would have given the meal a more positive touch. It's filling, but it's not a culinary highlight.

Nice rustic beer garden. The stone tables and benches look very neat. You just have to like the atmosphere. There was ox and pig from the rotisserie. and a menu with other dishes and snacks. We enjoyed it. Our conclusion is that the beer garden is in a very nice location with shady seating and good food. The ambience is a matter of opinion.

We turned off here on our tour from the Saale Cycle Path and can highly recommend it to everyone. Even if you're supposed to leave your bike at the junction, the nearly 300-meter walk is highly recommended. I definitely recommend this detour when passing through from the A72, and I'll definitely plan it as a stop in the future. In summary: top-notch service, excellent, home-style, honest cuisine, and an ambiance that has to be seen to be believed 😋👍👌
