What you see in the photo – a simple meat platter with some salad and side dishes – cost 140 euros. Unbelievable! I've been to this restaurant several times, and this isn't the first time I've felt the bills were excessive. This time, I specifically asked for the bill, and after a few minutes, the waiter came back with a handwritten note, without any explanation, just the sum of 185 euros. I then asked for a proper bill. After almost 10 minutes in which he couldn't plausibly explain this amount (including the drinks), I received a completely incomplete "bill": no product overview, no VAT, no tax number, and no valid information. Important: I'm not concerned about the quality of the food – it was fine, and I have nothing to complain about. But what bothers me is the lack of transparency and the way the bill was handled. Several people here in Mainbernheim who learned about this advised me to report the matter to the consumer protection agency, as such behavior can result in fines of several thousand euros. I consciously decided against it – I don't want to harm anyone. I'm only writing this to warn other diners and in the hope that such practices will stop. Personally, I will not return to this restaurant. Anyone who decides to do so should pay close attention to the bill.
