After receiving enthusiastic recommendations from my rather particular older brother and several German friends, I decided to visit this restaurant despite its somewhat remote location. Situated approximately 40 minutes by Train (RB) or 50 minutes by Tube (S-Bahn) from Munich Central Station, the journey might initially seem off-putting to city-centre dwellers. However, I can assure you that the trip is entirely worthwhile. The establishment particularly excels in its beer selection, which impressed even myself, someone with quite a limited alcohol tolerance. The quality was so remarkable that I found myself sampling various brews throughout the evening—something I rarely do. Perhaps most surprisingly, I awoke the following morning without the slightest hint of a hangover or headache. Whilst the distance from Munich's centre is admittedly a drawback, the exceptional German cuisine and truly superb beer more than compensate for the travel time. What began as hesitation about the journey ended in complete satisfaction with the experience. Should I return to Munich in future, this restaurant will unquestionably feature on my itinerary. For those seeking authentic German fare and extraordinary beer beyond the usual tourist haunts, I cannot recommend this hidden gem highly enough. The journey may be longer than ideal, but the destination proves entirely worth the effort.
On a recent trip from Canada, I had the pleasure of visiting a charming pub in Germany just before heading back home, and it was truly a delightful experience. This spot is a hidden gem for anyone looking to immerse themselves in traditional German food and drink. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a great meal. The beer selection was top-notch, with a range of local brews that perfectly complemented the hearty dishes they serve. I opted for a classic pasta and salad dish. The pasta was a good home felt Mac and cheese. and it did not disappoint—authentic flavors and generous portions that left me more than enough. What truly made the experience memorable was the friendly staff, who made me feel at home despite being so far away. If you’re traveling through Germany, this pub is a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience authentic German cuisine with a cozy, welcoming vibe. Five stars, hands down!
Delicious beer, great food and service. Server spoke English which is very convenient for an American 🤣. We went here twice and both times had a great experience. …
