Review score lives up to its name. First up, I was wandering around this small town after my hotel’s manager recommended this town for dinner. I was staying at Novotel, which is beside the airport. Decided to check this restaurant up, standing outside, I was nicely greeted by the lady inside with a big board. After parking our car, we gave this place a shot. The menu was clearly and carefully explained as there isn’t an English menu. I believe it changes pretty often based on what is special on that day. Food was lovely prepared and tasted pretty good. Staff and chef constantly make sure we are okay and if the food suits our taste. No regrets, try it!
Suffering from a tough situation at the Munich airport, we found ourselves with 3 hours to spare and at the advice of the Lufthansa agent we took a taxi to this charming town for a bite to eat. We found ourselves outside this unassuming little cafe as the skies opened up at the rain came down. Inside, we were transported to a place of bliss as the wonderful hostess literally walked the big chalkboard menu in from outside and attempted to translate the dishes. So what if there was some confusion between “pumpkin” and “pancake” soup. She was kind and extremely helpful in helping us secure a taxi for the ride back. And you are so close to the kitchen you can see the shimmer of the pan sauce as the chef pours it over some pan fried beef cuts. And the Weiner schnitzel was so light it could probably floated away if I hadn’t eaten it so fast. On an otherwise challenging travel day, this place was a ray of sunshine and the people were wonderful. Thank you. 🙏🏼
Travelling by myself, I popped in for a quick beer early one evening and ended up staying several hours. Absolutely stupendous staff made me feel very welcome, despite my poor German we had a real laugh backed up with lots of great beer and excellent food. This place is a real gem and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
