The food was good, especially the fries. However, the burger had too many different spices and sauces. The bread, although fresh, had a strange smell (mold), as did my glass (towel). The service was very friendly and relatively quick.

Yesterday we were in a 5 star restaurant and left the meal in a hurry after two thirds of the meal, paid stupidly and stupidly and were finally happy to be out - so today we had to do something that was good enough, good value for money, friendly and accommodating. After a long time we were here again in the Restaurant Kreuz and were welcomed by name in an incredibly sincere, warm and friendly manner, despite a long absence. Once again we came across a really very clean country restaurant with really sensational cuisine, where the boss cooks himself and the lady serves herself. Whatever you order is prepared exactly how you want it and what's even better is that it comes to the table exactly the same way. So I once again ordered a slightly larger fillet than normal and what came next can be seen clearly in the pictures: 360g in weight, fresh spinach and homemade Rösti croquettes. A poem! The cooking level was exactly right and the quality of the meat was absolutely unique! A really very good, of course self-created herb butter, which is thoughtfully served separately so that you can use it or not, depending on your taste, how you want to eat the meat, and a nut salad beforehand, which unfortunately you rarely get. With the best sauce, still warm bacon and home-cooked hard eggs. The restaurant has been furnished the same way for years, so you immediately feel at home every time, even after a long absence. The toilets are also spacious and very clean and behind the beautiful building you can find a very easily accessible, very large and never full parking lot. Then there are two large halls that should be mentioned, which can either be used individually or, thanks to the partition wall, as one large hall, as required. I have never seen or experienced such a perfectly harmonious couple in the catering sector, who complement each other so well, who still get along so well after all these years and who each know exactly what they have to do, what they should do and still give the other their freedom, for example to talk to the guests. It's absolutely shameful that something like this has never been discovered or found in the canton of Zurich, at least by us, and that's why we like to make the journey to Rain / LU every now and then when we just want to have a very good, middle-class experience, perfect in detail and really well looked after, without feeling like we're being watched. If the cuisine is as good as it is here in Rain, then it could be even further away from us, we would always find our way back there - a sincere and honestly meant compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Brunner. It's great that this still exists!
