Very rare to find a castle that hasn't been heavily torn down or destroyed, and is in largely the footprint. Easy to see the various additions over the years. Excellent food and beverage options.

Definitely a great place to visit. Lots of history involved with this Castle. The only one to survive WWII without being damaged or destroyed. All medieval, the walkways are still in their natural state with entry requiring a small climb up a set of stairs - not for the impaired or someone who does not walk a lot.

Another amazing castle in the Rhine Valley, Marksburgh Castle. Guided tours only so worth checking when they do the English speaking ones. We did a German tour but it was still quite something to see.
