We stayed overnight in Altensteig on our bike tour and hiked up to the old town in the evening to have dinner at Engel. Beautiful, time-honored house, beautiful terrace with a great view. The patron Catarina is a very warm and nice host . The menu offers a good standard … and the truth is: simple is usually good. And that's how it was: very tasty pasta... and with a delicious vino rosso on the terrace in an evening atmosphere and a nice landlady: it couldn't be better! And then a nicer walk in the old town. Great.

We were out cycling on Good Friday lunchtime and were happy to find an open restaurant. The boss served us and was very nice. The beer was tapped perfectly. We had the Elisabeth pizza with tuna capers and onions. Very well topped and tasty. If we come by it again on our bikes we will stop by again. Thanks
