Beautiful restaurant. We were there for a confirmation, and the hosts celebrated it in this beautiful venue. The guests lacked nothing; very attentive and friendly service, a great ambiance with great attention to detail, and the decor was just to my taste. We'd love to come back from the Harz Mountains to beautiful Bavaria.

Very nicely renovated restaurant, centrally located in the town center, only a few parking spaces at the house. Beautiful outdoor area with self-service, only a short waiting time for food, modern Franconian cuisine, prices moderate to slightly higher. Quiet, pleasant atmosphere despite the location right on the main street. Nice to sit outside in the evening in summer.

Today was our first visit to the Golden Lion since moving from Bayreuth to Gesees. I find the small portion of goose breast too expensive, especially considering the somewhat lackluster presentation . The food tasted okay, but nothing exceptional. We remember it differently "back in the day." The restaurant advertises itself with Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp presences, but only accepts cash payments – that's not appropriate for 2020. We'll look elsewhere for now and give the owner another chance in a few months.
