I love going to Panela Velha, but the last time I was there, the food (picanha skewer) left something to be desired. We ordered a skewer and a half, but it was a mere portion (which, let's face it, wasn't a skewer and a half). But the rest of the food was excellent, and the service was 5-star.

The best picanha in the world. I love the picanha steak with garlic, served with rice and black beans, collard greens, and farofa. The caipirinhas are also delicious, and finishing the meal with a Leitinho de Onça or a Limonchelo is the icing on the cake. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional.
