Restaurant Pizzeria Schmitte : Zürichstrasse 1, 5426 Lengnau

The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and the service friendly, but our visit still left a negative overall impression. Our server barely spoke any German, which made communication throughout the evening significantly more difficult. A misunderstanding arose, particularly when paying: We were charged for an item we hadn't even ordered. Although the misunderstanding was ultimately resolved, the discussion caused some discontent. It seems incomprehensible that a server with such limited language skills is solely responsible for one area – especially when it comes to such a sensitive issue as billing. It's a shame, because the potential for a pleasant evening was there.

Unfortunately, I can't report anything good: We were served by a friendly lady, but she couldn't speak any German, and she didn't understand a thing!? 🤔 We ordered drinks and a Dürüm each. The Dürüms were so incredibly poorly prepared: the meat was tough, and the ingredients didn't match what we ordered. The only thing that was fresh was the salad in the Dürüm. Conclusion: Our first time there, but also our last.

One of the worst dürüm/döner I've ever eaten. It was dry as hell, there was barely any sauce, I didn't see a döner skewer anywhere, and the meat was in a container. Simply disgusting. The dürüm stank of sweat.
