Insider tip! Austrian award-winning chef has retired to the monastery and cooks excellent, real Viennese cuisine here. I am a Viennese myself, the schnitzel, the onion roast, the starters (here vegetable terrine) and the homemade ice cream/sorbet would not be a given even in Vienna. Herbs and vegetables from our own monastery garden, meat from regional businesses, very well-stocked wine list, family atmosphere, beautiful guest garden, great landscape, sometimes one of the nuns plays the zither... an experience like in a movie...

Here at Pelagiberg you might expect home-style cuisine and a beer. We were completely surprised when we were able to experience STAR LEVEL HOSPITALITY instead. The quiet and natural environment is the perfect setting in which the Austrian star chef Andreas Brunthaler presents his taste explosions. His credo is to use simple ingredients to conjure up an experience for the palate and he succeeded in doing this in his humble way and will remain in our memory for a long time. His Viennese cuisine was a real experience, complemented of course with delicious wines. Predicate valuable and remarkable!
