From the train station, it's a 15-minute walk to Landhaus Romanshorn, where my girlfriend and I had a very good meal. We enjoyed two excellent rösti in a pub-like atmosphere. Even though a menu was scarce, the proprietor was very helpful with our order. If you absolutely want to try an authentic rösti, you'll only find it here in Switzerland.

+Very good and fair price/performance ratio. +/-Old-fashioned, home-style cooking. +Chef makes exceptions for special requests regarding side dishes. -Old-fashioned food presentation. -/+Service, while nice and polite, could be more attentive and efficient. -Restaurant is very old-fashioned, as is the decor: old things in the restaurant, such as a large block, probably a smoke extractor, still hanging from the ceiling instead of being removed. As well as all the old fixtures and fittings. A meeting place for the cooperative, regular customers, and jass enthusiasts, who are very friendly to new visitors. Everyone is welcome.
