Gasthaus zum Trauben : Rathausstrasse 1, 8570 Weinfelden

Designer hotel with a historic exterior in the heart of Weinfelden. The inside of the hotel has been renovated with a designer look. Our room was spacious with well designed storage space and a comfy bed. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are lifts to all of the floors so it would be good for people with limited mobility. There is parking at the back; we were warned that space was limited but had no problems finding a space despite the hotel being quite full. There was a limited selection for breakfast but they had everything we wanted, the coffee was excellent and the service was excellent. The restaurant is also excellent, verging on Michelin class. I particularly enjoyed the caesar salad with grilled lettuce, quite different than the usual tired version you get at most hotels.
