Gasthaus Haldenhof : Halden 4, 8561 Ottoberg

We were doing the 🍷hike and stumbled upon the Haldenhof Inn by chance. The food was delicious, especially the meat and cheese platter. The white wine was a local wine, which we really enjoyed. The vegetarian main course was excellent. The staff did a fantastic job; I can definitely recommend the Haldenhof Inn; it's good Swiss cuisine at a reasonable price.

We were hiking the Thurberg circular trail. We stumbled upon the Haldenhof Inn quite by chance. Easter 2024 offered beautiful, warm weather on Good Friday. Naturally, everyone wanted to sit on the lovely terrace and enjoy the beautiful view of the valley and the Alps. We received a very friendly welcome and were given a nice seat. The restaurant is very modern, bright, and pleasantly decorated. This also applies to the restrooms. The food was plentiful and very tasty. We ordered bouillon with homemade pancakes and creamed schnitzel with rösti. Everything was perfect. Thumbs up for the food and the really friendly service. The only minor criticism was the sometimes very long wait between courses and even for payment. But it really wasn't that bad; after all, we weren't on the run, but on a leisurely hike.

The food was okay. The portions of the whitefish crisps were a bit small , so the price was not right at all. The dumplings with cheese were good and the portions were large enough. The white wine was very good. The service was friendly and quick.
