The atmosphere was lovely, especially the grotto. Good and courteous service. The family-run aperitif was truly remarkable, I thought it was dinner 😉. I had the pickled trout, which wasn't bad except for the fact that it had too many bones.

Based on previous experiences of other guests, we visited the Osteria on the outskirts of Ascona to have a lunch snack. The very friendly waitress recommended us a good drink (unfortunately the glasses were filled very sparingly) and we enjoyed the sunny lunch in the beautiful garden in the cozy "Bavarian" garden atmosphere. Our main course was hash browns with cheese and bacon and gnochi with porcini mushrooms. Everything freshly prepared. The meals were very tasty. The portions are manageable but that is only mentioned in passing. It was quite quiet at that time of day, but in the evenings and on weekends you can definitely expect a lot more activity. We'll definitely come back. Thank you.
