Tresa Bay Hotel : Via Lugano 18, 6988 Ponte Tresa

Easy to get to and from the train station. It is basically across the street. Excellent views and private balconies were great. Friendly and helpful staff. About a 20-minute train ride to Lugano itself. Good selection for the continental breakfast. Not a whole lot of food options nearby. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also a bar/lounge area for cocktails. The food was good. You need to book an appointment to use the spa facilities and then a staff member lets you in when it is time. Towels for the spa and the outside terrace are provided. I thought there was a private beach, but I didn't see it. There is a large private terrace, but it wasn't open while I was there. Definitely a good value.

The hotel overlooks the lake with stunning views from a piano bar and the restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is simple with meat, breads, eggs and cereals, all quality ingrediants. The coffee was great. The dinner menu is again simple but really well cooked. We parked outside, off road for a small fee. Our superior room was large with a good shower. The beds were firm but comfy. The pillows sadly were all but empty. Otherwise we had a comfortable night. Good wifi in public areas as well as in the room. Highly recommended, we were made very welcome.
