Romantik Hôtel l'Etoile : Rue du Ctre 21, 1637 Val-de-Charmey

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Etoile in the picturesque Val-de-Charmey, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. From the moment I walked in, the warmth of the wooden interior invited a sense of comfort and luxury. The hotel's design perfectly complements the breathtaking mountain scenery visible from nearly every window, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.A short, pleasant walk away is a spa that promises relaxation and rejuvenation - a must-visit for anyone staying here. The highlight of my stay, however, was the culinary experience. The hotel's restaurant serves haute cuisine that tantalizes the taste buds with every bite, especially their loup de mer, which was cooked to perfection.Above all, the service at Hotel Etoile was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable, making me feel welcome and well-cared for throughout my visit.I highly recommend Hotel Etoile to anyone looking for a luxurious getaway in a stunning natural setting. Whether it's for the food, the views, or the overall ambiance, this hotel is sure to exceed your expectations.

Very small room with an even smaller bathroom to match. The smallest shower we’ve ever been in. Towels were old and frayed. We arrived at the breakfast, which was very sparse to begin with, with most of the bread, and cheese platters empty, the fruit old. While the hotel website makes the place looks great, it is anything but. We changed Hotels after only one night. Very disappointed.

Pros: staff is great. Timothy and the staff are very attentive and are trying their best. Restaurant is actually amazing. Quality and well prepared. Best Cote de Beouf I've had. Bar area is like a local hangout. Shootout to DoDo. Cons: bad pillows. No real amenities in the bathroom other than soap. Overall great location to explore Gruyère region.
