Restaurant Le National : Rue Centrale 6, 1892 Lavey-Morcles

A good experience at Le National. A small, local restaurant with a beautiful, floral and creative decor. I was greeted a little coldly at first, but the waitress clearly understood that I wasn't from the area and was a bit lost. Her suggestions were adequate. Food-wise, the perch fillets were good and the fries crispy. Their desserts are a bit pricey for the quality, but the portions are large. They're open until late and accept credit cards.

The joviality of the owners, a warm atmosphere, and creative, original, and thoughtful decor (a work of the owner)—this is the welcome that awaits you. The menu is pleasant without being extensive; regulars generally know what they want! On the menu, fondues are a prominent feature, generous and varied. Opt for a rump steak, and you'll be delighted; it's as tender as a rib-eye steak... Elsewhere! Homemade fries, fresh without excess fat, crispy... The owner is a master of this art! He has a sense of how to cook the meat, in particular: it will be to your liking. The perch fillets are one of the National's signature dishes. They're the daily special on Fridays; it's best to book well in advance! The wines are local and excellent. The prices are very reasonable.
