Rural location, beautiful garden terrace friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. The food was excellent and beautifully presented to the eye. The vegetables were freshly prepared.
Food and service were top. We ate in the dining room, very “rustic” and really “homey”. It was a really nice evening and the food was great.
Historic Country Inn with Great Food We had a great meal at the atmospheric and charming Landgasthof Löwen. Our goal was to try the Berner Teller, which did not disappoint. Often meat centered dishes like this are too salty, but the seasoning for the Berner Teller at the Landgasthof Löwen was just right. A few pieces of meat were salty, but these meat pieces were cured so the saltiness was expected and intended. The accompanying potatoes and carrots were suitably bland, and we ordered a salad with the dressing on the side so the blander vegetables balanced the saltier meat. We also tried the pike perch (Zander) served with sauerkraut. This fish dish was nice as well. Our favorite part of the meal was dessert. We ordered the meringue (Merängge) with vanilla and strawberry ice cream topped with whipped cream. The meringue was huge and delicious, definitely something for two to share. Our waitress was nice and helpful. She checked on us regularly. We visited on Good Friday so the dining room was festively decorated with rabbits, hatching chicks, and spring flowers. Just lovely.
