The Maison de la Place, nestled in the heart of Rossinière, is an architectural gem with origins tracing back to the mid-17th century, marking it as one of the village's most important historical structures. Completed in 1664, the house was conceived amidst the Bernese dominion, reflecting the influence of the Reformation on local culture and governance. Constructed over a period of three years, the Maison de la Place was the home of Ardan Martin, a figure of significant standing, closely tied to the Bernese authority. This symmetrical structure, originally housing two separate living spaces, serves as an illustration of the elevated status granted to those closely aligned with Bernese rule after 1555. The house is private but the hostess receives B&B guests.
A small one and only relatively cheap in the city
Madame Pilet is extremely friendly and the house is a discovery! There are three pretty rooms in three sizes on the upper floor, which share a simple bathroom.
