Boulangerie la Gourmandine : Rue de l'Eglise 10, 1908 Riddes

not focusing too much on a deco that certainly dates back from a long time ago you'll find a lively environment with a beautiful view on the mountains in sunny Valais. With a lot of options for eating it's a good place for a casual stop during a bike ride or before hitting the gondola in direction to Iserables. People are nice and welcoming. This bakery/bar/restaurant is a local must be it in winter or in summer when you can take advantage of the tables outside

Very nice and good bakery with tasty sandwiches and many other products. Friendly service that is also patient if you do not speak the language well or if you see so many delicious items that you can make a difficult choice. They also have a terrace outside, both covered and open, and inside there is also a place to sit when it is colder. The apricot pie and the raspberry tart were very tasty. Before that I had a cold non-alcoholic beer with a chicken curry sandwich and my traveling companions had the ham sandwich. Everything between 4.20 to 5.00 Chf per item. Which is very affordable by Swiss standards, also for the quantity and quality you get. Mountain view on the terrace.

What a nice surprise, pretty, clean, cafe the room in Riddes, right next to the psrking cable car. Local people, very nice atmosphere. The people have super friendly service. Croissants not puffy/airy enough, too condensed, but very crunchy. Presentation of appetizing breads and pastries. Price same level as others. Highly recommended as a stopover.
