Café-Restaurant de la Poste : Rte de la Plaine 115, 1283 La Plaine

We had dinner and ordered some nice appetizers and steaks. The sauce costs extra up to 20% of the main dish btw. Anyways, the food was good, not mind blowing but good. The service however was atrocious. No smile, barely any interaction, and the kicker was that like 2 minutes after we finished our meals the server slammed the bill on our table. Would you like some more water, wine? A coffee? Dessert? Nope. Pay and leave please. I asked if we did anything wrong… reply “oh it must have been your accent” Ok I don’t speak perfect French but it’s definitely decent enough to communicate- we ordered in French and that worked fine. So instead of an apology I got blamed for her rude behaviour. Sorry cannot recommend.

Looks like nothing. BUT by far the best pizzas I have had around Geneva, including Italian restaurants- you know the sort of pizza where you actually enjoy the crust by itself? That sort of good. The bolognese sauce is homemade and delicious. The salmon salad is good. The kids are all happy, I am happy, my parents are happy. The waitresses look grumpy and are actually friendly. The boss wanders about and keeps an eye on things. There are regulars, locals. You can show up for lunch at 13h and leave at 15h and you won't even get a side-eye. Is it worth the trip out of town? Maybe not . But if you're nearby, it's worth the detour, knowing that you will not be served a disappointing meal.

I eat lunch here twice per week and I have never had a bad menu du jour, and I'm fussy. Nice efficient staff and good ambiance. Recent changes to personnelle have been bad , out went 2 really friendly serveuse , in went 2 really rude ones . In 4 years , i have NEVER seen a male waiter, nor a girl who didn't wear a mini skirt ....is this an obligation???? I don't know
