Big disappointment this lunchtime. We sat down at noon sharp and waited forever: the starters took 45 minutes to arrive, and the main courses arrived at 1:20 p.m. And what's more, the starter on the daily special was forgotten, despite two reminders to the waiter—who each time called out a little "piano piano" (in the style of "don't worry, it'll come"). Well, no. And then, the icing on the cake: while serving one of the dishes, the waiter—drenched in sweat—leaned over the bowl... and a big drop fell into it. Right in front of me. I'm not one to complain easily at a restaurant. If it had been a hair, I would have picked it out and eaten my curry without a fuss. But sweating is a bit much. And then, instead of apologizing, I heard him say to his colleague: "APPROPRIATELY, a drop of perspiration fell into his meal"... even though his forehead was literally soaked. Honestly, not great. Okay, it was 28 degrees, and the service seemed tense, but when a customer says they saw a drop fall into their meal, you don't question it like that. The meal was replaced, and as usual, it was delicious (thanks to the kitchen). But no apology, no kind words, no small gesture of goodwill. Not even a free coffee. And in the end, I felt like the annoying customer complaining for nothing. Update: I realized afterward (my fault for not checking on the spot) that the 21.– menu of the day was billed at 26.50, just like a regular meal. I guess they figured that since they'd overlooked my entry, they might as well make me pay full price... like a good pigeon. A real shame.
Thank you for your smile and kindness... I understand better why the terrace is empty.
