A renovated well preserved land house restaurant with the friendliest welcoming and accommodating personnel ever. I enjoyed a prosecco and was served a very delicious amuse bouche of a smoked sausage slice sitting on a spoonful of delicious polenta. The cook greeted from thee balcony above and I could help but feel at home. ! The prelude made excitement as our waiter explained the 4 course meal to be served. The meal was served indoors upstairs. As I entered this vast well maintained house I wanted to be transported back in time to experience the family who lived there. No floors were creaking! Large rooms and artifacts added to the decor. Such as a huge fireplace bellow used as a coffee table in a sitting area. Each room had around 2 tables with lily white table clothes and napkins folded with a fan and a rose with a fan like tail sweep. Meadow flowers so suitable on tables. Our meal started wth a crisp light mixed leaves salad, very tender home smoked chicken breasts with a delicious pink cherry dressing. Second was a fantastic velvety yellow tomato soup with home made.basil pesto and delicious warm dark bread.. Third course was 2 slices of Veal roast with a moorish dribble of glaze sauce ) with risotto and crunchy snow peas. Unfortunately we are small eaters so we couldn't finish it. We skipped the cheese plate being too full. Then opted to share the Strawberry symphony dessert. A delight but still could only eat half of it. The meals for dinner are much too large for folks over 60 but temptingly delicious! Highly recommended. Value for money! Great place to be!
The Restaurant is very nice situated in a farmhouse of the past centuries. On the feet of the Stockhorn northwall, it is, especially for foreigners, a stunning location. The atmosphere is gr8 and allows a lot of privacy dining here. In the noontime the garden and terrace are superb in terms of views and the fresh air... The remote location is worth to be drove to, cuz the people are very heartly and are very good chefs. Friendly and service oriented. Children have a huge playground above the restaurant in an own part of the house and amenities outdoors. The chef is a former gault milleau kook, which wanted to refuse the listings and points, cooks now on his own and equally good. Look at my pics, i tried to give u a selection covering it all in and foodside...
Very fine Sunday brunch with a select selection of high-quality dishes. People who follow a vegetarian diet also get their money's worth. The service was extremely charming and courteous. The landscape is very beautiful and you can easily get there by bus from Thun, for example.
