A truly unique experience! Nicely done and you can tell that they have thought through the customer’s experience, right from the start at the waiting area where you can buy Glühwein to warm yourself up. At the start the waiter also explains and shares about how the igloo was built etc. Each room is of a different theme, which there are 6-7 tables. Well thought out as they provided thick blankets for you as well. Fondue was good, and the servers came around constantly to give you more bread and to check in on you. We took the 530pm slot and took the 730pm cable car down. Highly recommend for a fun activity day out!
Great experience. Everything is perfectly organized. From going up on the cable car to the time you'll spend on the restaurant. The service is great and the fondue is very good. You pay 56 CHF per person to for the round trip in cable car + the fondue .
When one comes to the mountains, one must eat fondu. That's just the rule. When searching for fondu restaurants this one came up as THE ONE to see. So, we took the bus here and then took another gondola up to have a nice meal at Fondue Engstligenalp. The whole experience was a lot of fun. We were invited to have a drink at the bar before sitting down at the restaurant. We ordered some hot tea and white wine. The fondu was very delicious and we were happy. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because they took our order last and ran out of the pickled vegetables. I'm sorry, but I'm someone that needs a nice, crunchy, vinegary addition to my creamy, heavy, warm fondu. The waitress explained that they pickle all of their vegetables themselves and they simply ran out. Um. No. If you run out you should have som Migros/Coop backup pickled veggies because I would gladly take those over nothing. Anyway, for me it was just sad because the combination makes the meal sooooo much more enjoyable. Next time hopefully they have their pickled vegetables... or they let us order first.
