Lovely little mountain hotel with restaurant in one of the most breathtaking surroundings on earth - in Gasterntal (about 2 hours hike from Kandersteg). Delicious food, very friendly and quick service. There are several serious hiking trails starting from the hotel. It is reachable also by car or minibus via a very picturesque and a bit scary one way road .

This hotel is located close to heaven: in the Swiss Alps. It's a funky, authentic place with the owners on site and great value in their rooms and food. When I go back to the Alps, I will go out of my way to stay here. Oh, and there are great hiking trails and nature walks nearby, a photographer's dream any direction you turn. Really worth the trip.
