Restaurant Bellevue au Lac : Staatsstrasse, 3652 Hilterfingen

We've been coming there occasionally for several years. Unfortunately, you now have to strongly advise against visiting. Apparently a new owner recently took over and it doesn't work that way. Usually it was hard to get a seat and today the restaurant was almost empty. The location and service are still good. But the food is just average. What is extremely strange is that wine is no longer allowed: the new owner from Dubai generally prohibits the consumption of alcohol. The people at the next table probably had wine in their car, but they weren't allowed to pick up the wine and consume it either. Now you can allow yourself to be patronized by another culture in your own country if the food and experience is excellent. It's not. No longer. The beef ragout with noodles is now spaghetti Bolognese . See photos. The risotto came out of the bag and the mixed salads were actually “just salads”. The salt-crusted beetroot carpaccio was simply slices of beetroot without any sauce. Very disappointing overall. It's also a shame for the people who sell such a gem into incompetent hands.
