Despite that I do not speak German or French the staff were friendly and we were easily able to communicate. The waiter helped me with the menu which was refreshingly traditional. I had a delicious cordon bleu which was served with vegetables and fries. The desserts looked wonderful but I was too full. Lovely drinks menu and a warm atmosphere made for a lovely dining experience.

We had a pleasant stay in Barren. The room was neat and organized. Our day of arrival was a holiday for them. Yet they kept the key in a locker and gave proper instructions well in advance to go through a self check-in. The breakfast timings are from 6 to 9 am which was a bit early for us. However, the breakfast was all well arranged and yummy.

Super friendly staff, who were very accommodating of our toddler. Food-wise, nice menu (featuring a lot of meat) which for our picks was very well executed both evenings. (Restaurant highly recommended!) The menu is available online for people who would want to check it out. Simple breakfast buffet with all the main items one would expect available, and "real" coffee from the bar included, which is much nicer than what automated machines can supply. We spent 2 nights in a comfy room, typical of small hotels in central Switzerland, and have nothing unexpected to report. Good location close to Lucerne, and 2 Tesla destination chargers in an underground car park to boot makes this a highly recommended hotel in our books.
