This is an old hotel （but has been refurbished） dated back to 1661 located in the outskirts of the city center in a quiet neighbourhood. It's a family run property and before checking in, we have been warned not to boil water or wash clothes since the hot water vapour could trigger the fire alarm and a hefty fine would be imposed on us. Putting that aside, our room was 313 and the hotel only have one lift with a spiral stairways. Imagine how long it would take for a tourgroup of 30! And the lift could only take 4 persons with luggage! Nonetheless, the room was spacious and huge! The biggest room we have stayed in this current trip. The room was nicely themed with beautiful wall decors and lights. The automatic window shade is a bonus, where you can roll up or down that offer a nice scenery view afar on greenery mountains and surrounding villages. Beds were overall comfortable and the toilet was separated for bathing and WC. Although there's aircon, its not working and so we had to open our windows and only windy at night time. Room service was done appropriately. However, there was no usb cable charging wall sockets! And asking the reception if they have any, they said no without offering help. Luckily one of our tourmates got extra and lend to us. Breakfast only start at 7am and if you go early, we will have to wait until that time. On the 2nd day, the opening was delayed by a good 15mins because the "bread was not ready yet" as quoted by the boss. The spread was rather limited and just so so in terms of taste. There's a Spar supermarket opposite the hotel and a Micgros supermarket about 1km away with 1~2 pizza restaurants nearby. It's good for those who look forward to the "out of city" stay to enjoy mother nature and from the bustling activities in the city. Would say it's ok to stay here but nothing to shout about!

The service is impeccable, with staff who truly care. The cuisine is another highlight: fresh, creative, and delicious. Markus, the owner, personally oversees the kitchen — often singing happily while cooking — and makes sure every guest is enjoying their experience. His presence adds a personal and unforgettable touch. Even for business meetings, everything is smooth and convenient, with full attention to detail and guest needs. An extraordinary place I’d recommend without hesitation: one of those rare hotels you’ll want to return to again and again.

Excellent overnight stop with very comfortable facilities - there was even a Japanese style toilet in the room for extra cleanliness which was excellent. The restaurant served delicious food for evening meal and all the staff were very friendly polite and helpful. The owner who is also the chef was extremely kind and cooked us eggs of our choice for breakfast the next morning. Would recommend.
