Restaurant Gehren : Gerenweg 22, 6402 Merlischachen

My wife and I stayed at the Yurt on our honeymoon and had an outstanding experience! Everyone at Gehren was so welcoming and nice. The yurt was very spacious and comfortable. They served us breakfast each morning and it was all so perfect! The views are more beautiful than a painting. We would highly recommend! PS Hercules or "Harry" was very nice!

This is a review of both the B&B and restaurant experience from our stay! We could not been luckier than to be able to stay with Silvia. First, the surroundings are absolutely magical--you're perched facing the mountains above teal lake Lucerne, the whole of which is bathed in a silvery moonlight at night. The view from the private patio of the yurt is a panorama of this, and from inside the yurt is a snapshot of the lake and mountains, a stunning way to wake up. Ideally located--a quick 20 min train to Lucerne and right across from the many trails up Rigi . But most importantly, Silvia is the most friendly, sweet, welcoming host. She went above and beyond in making sure we were taken care of, making fantastic recommendations for our day trips and inviting us to spend time with her family . Her husband and children were equally charming and so sweet and gracious. The food was spectacular, and exemplified the emphasis on quality of this region of beautiful farms and greenery. Every bite was special, sliced pork rippled with buttery fat; fragrant, fresh cheese; cream-like yogurt; we could go on. We have stayed in many Airbnb's, and this was by far the best experience we have ever had! We just left today, and are already figuring out how to come back :)

We had a lovely stay in the Yurt. Very peaceful and lovely views of the lake with cows in the fields Delicious breakfast and very friendly staff. It was nice to be able to cook some food on the bbq and there was a large fridge to store food. The only suggestion is perhaps to provide a citronella candle or mosquito net as we had a couple of bites but typical for the high heat at that time of year.
