We walked by today and the owner was yelling the N-word and other slurs towards 4 customers because they couldn't read the "Nur Bargeld" sign, since it wasn't written in English. Racists like them shouldn't be working in tourism or gastronomy. Thankfully a nice hiker paid for the 4 gentlemen, since they didn't have cash. Nowadays it's rare to pay with cash and a restaurant should have it written everywhere in German AND ENGLISH. The fact that they served them, realizing they only spoke English, makes me think they just wanted a reason to fight. They even threatened to call the police when 2 of the men tried to leave to exchange cash at the station. Racists have no place in this world.
A nice place to invigorate before continuing hiking to kleiner/gross Mythen. Although, the food and drinks selection is quite limited. The place is mostly in shadow, especially in fall, making this place a bit cold.
A rustic mountain inn (1356 m above sea level), as the name suggests, located directly between the two Mythen mountains. The shortest route to the hut is from Brunni in about 30-40 minutes. It is also easily accessible from Haggenegg. Hiking trails intersect towards both the Grosser Mythen and Kleiner Mythen. Not far from the hut (about 15 minutes) is a magnificent vantage point, also called Zwüschet-Mythen. From there, you have a fantastic view towards Lake Lucerne and Lake Lauerz. The small inn is rustically furnished and very cozy. Outside, there is a lovely sun terrace, which, however, in late summer, is quickly shaded by the imposing Grosser Mythen by midday. The menu is small but fine. Cheese and smoked sausage taste excellent with crispy fresh bread. The Einsiedler beer, which is typical of this region, is also highly recommended. You are welcome to buy cheese and sausage on site to take home. The restrooms are small but spotlessly clean. Access by car is not possible. Overall, the hut is highly recommended for a rest after a strenuous hike.
