A Hidden Gem in Granges-Paccots – Swiss Hospitality at Its Best - Restaurant de Grandfey is a truly delightful family-owned Swiss restaurant tucked away in the greenery of Granges-Paccots, just outside Fribourg. It radiates warmth and pride in its culinary tradition, and rightfully so. Their signature poulet au panier is nothing short of legendary - perfectly crispy, juicy, and finger-licking good. It’s arguably the best in the entire Canton of Fribourg. But the magic doesn’t stop there. We also had the pleasure of enjoying tender beef, gently simmering at our table, adding both aroma and theatre to the meal. Paired with a glass of red wine from Valais and the peaceful garden view, it was an unforgettable experience. The Caesar salad was another hit - fresh and flavorful, served with nicely grilled warm chicken breast and rustic dark bread croutons. And then there are the fries… oh, the fries! Golden, crispy, and addictive, they deserve their own fan club. Whether with chicken, beef, or filets de perche, they’re the perfect companion. To end on a high note, the owner treated us to a house-made limoncello - smooth, fragrant, and clearly made with care. We also heard about their orancello, made from orange zest, which we’ll definitely be trying on our next visit. All in all, it was a lovely evening of authentic Swiss food, heartfelt hospitality, and a setting that invites you to relax and stay a little longer. We’ll be back very soon! 🍀🍀🍀

A restaurant in a wonderful natural setting in the country and still very near the city: it is great to eat in the garden and the food is ok. Do not forget to go for a stroll on the Grandfey viaduct after dinner.
