Our visit to the Centro Italiano in Gerlafingen was unfortunately disappointing. I expect from an Italian restaurant that at least the pasta is freshly prepared. The penne bolognese tasted like they were from the day before, which is unacceptable. It really shouldn't take much time to make a fresh batch of pasta. A dish as basic as Penne Bolognese, which is on the menu in every Italian restaurant, should be perfect. If you can't manage that, you should consider removing the Italian flags in the restaurant. The ingredients were generally not of high quality, although the prices were on the high end for a simple restaurant. The caprese salad was particularly disappointing. The mozzarella was of poor quality, which greatly detracted from the overall impression of the dish. Overall, the Centro Italiano unfortunately did not meet our expectations of Italian cuisine.
