I do not know if they had a bad night or it is always like this. But, we had to wait an hour and a half for our chateaubriand. To top it all off, 3 of us had bad stomachs the whole night! Was my first time there, and we drove all the way from Zurich to meet friends in Basel. Honestly, I won't be going back. The place itself is charming and classy. But, the service and all the waiting spoilt our evening.

After an excursion we tried to get a table. Since someone canceled, we were lucky. I didn't expect anything big, but I still left the place thrilled. Food, ambience, service, what was on offer here is simply fantastic and unparalleled. I would be happy to come back, then definitely with a reservation.

We have been to Höfli several times for lunch and dinner. Always great. The service is great. Friendly, accommodating, but not intrusive. The food has been great every time so far. The prices are more than fair for the quality offered. If anything, I would describe the wine list as expandable, but we still found something suitable. Clear recommendation!
