It's located in a fairytale place, a picture perfect, and the service and food are great. Many hiking tracks start nearby. So 10/10

I stayed at this family-owned hotel for two nights in the end of June and it was an absolute highlight of my first visit to Switzerland! From the moment I arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the owners and staff were truly exceptional. The hotel itself perfectly embodies the charming countryside feel, with rustic yet well-maintained rooms that offer a cozy and relaxing experience. Waking up to the stunning landscape and breathtaking views right outside was simply magical. Each morning, the breakfast spread was wonderful, and their coffee was amazing – a perfect start to my adventures ahead. I also had the pleasure of enjoying the "Alpenblick-Menü" set meal for dinner, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. Michael also provided some hiking tips for Seealpsee and Schäfler Ridge. The convenience of the hotel's location directly in front of the train station, and its proximity to my hiking destinations such as the Schäfler Ridge and supermarkets in Appenzell was a huge plus. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Appenzell region!
