Maharani Palace : Sulgenauweg 38, 3007 Bern

I recently dined at Maharani Palace near the Wander Tram stop in Bern with my colleagues, making it the third Indian restaurant I've tried in the past two weeks. The restaurant isn't very spacious, with a limited number of tables, but it's thoughtfully arranged. Here's what we ordered along with my personal ratings: 1. Paneer Butter Masala - 3.5/5 2. Veg Kofta Curry - 3/5 3. Naan - 3/5 The main course items were served with a complimentary bowl of rice, a common offering in Indian restaurants in Switzerland. While the food taste was above average, what stood out was the hospitality and service of this restaurant. The prices were reasonable compared to similar establishments.

I love this place. Been there on multiple occasions at different times(lunch/dinner etc). The owners Preet and Sarb take very good care of you. Both are very hospitable and polite. I have tried chilly paneer, gemuse kofta, channa masala, dal, dahi bada and everything was awesome with authentic Indian taste. I love their Aloo Parantha as well. Just call-in before and inform them if you’re planning to eat aloo parantha. Highly recommended if you’re in bern and craving Indian food. Take tram 9 towards Wabern from bahnhof and get down at Wander or sulgenau. The place is at walking distance from both the stops.

WOW!!! This food is beyond words! My wife and I have traveled all over the world and have eaten at somewhere between 50- 100 Indian restaurants (it's our favorite) and this one is easily in our top 3... easily! That really says it all! They have everything it takes to make your dinner experience the best: quiet outdoor dining area, the sweetest and most attentive service you could ask for, and the absolute most divine food one could ever wish to find!
