We had a truly delightful experience during our visit to the Igloo. The vibe was exceptional, and the food, particularly the ramen, were exquisite. To note, there were diverse vegan options, accommodating both one of my friends and me. I recommend it as an ideal choice for special occasions.
We spent a lovely Saturday evening enjoying the seasonal rooftop igloo sat Kursaal in Bern. If you are interested in enjoying this exciting restaurant follow them in social media or book your igloo for next year as they will be finishing in February. The sunset over Bern and the surrounding alps is fantastic from the vantage point of the igloos and the earlier you arrive the better your photos will be of the view. The food, from appetizers to dessert is excellent with a focus on local ingredients and reducing food waste - you also feel good about your dinner out.
We had our delayed company Christmas dinner with 17 people on February 14th, 2025 in the Rooftop Igloo. Overall it was great! The food was great, the quality was really great, and I can only give it 5 stars when it comes to innovation. Unfortunately, service wasn't as great as I'm used to and expected from the Kursaal. We had to ask for certain things up to 4 times before we received it. Basically, it seemed a bit like a clearance to me. We received the aperitif and starter almost at the same time. What I, as a former waitress, absolutely don't understand. In general there were no breaks between courses, which I found very unfortunate. When it comes to warmth, you would definitely have to think about something else, because at the time when the food is being served it is really incredibly cold, despite wearing good clothes. I found it a very big flaw that, with a consumption of over 2000 francs and a corresponding tip, the "missing" menu of the one person who was unfortunately unable to attend was actually billed for, first as a meat menu after a complaint, then at least the cheaper vegan version . I see the point about the cancellation policy, but I think with such high consumption you could turn a blind eye. For people who have never been there, I wouldn't go over 6 people per table, it gets very tight even with 6 people and I honestly wonder how you can sit there with 8 and still enjoy the evening. All in all it was really nice, the atmosphere and view were great, and the quality of the food was amazing. The only thing that really needs to be worked on is the service. At such prices I expect impeccable service and no such shortcomings.
