Ustareia Alpina / Restaurant und Gasthaus : Veia Principala 7, 7462 Salouf

We stayed and had dinner twice. Dinner was soooooo good that we just had to have the second one. MUST ORDER: beef tartar and tiramisu. My entire family with 2 kids of 9 and 12, we all rated the tartar to be the best we’ve ever had. Everything else was great too, we had pizza, mushroom tagliatelle and venison with berry sauce - and they were great as well. We had a spacious apartment with 2 bedrooms, a living room, separate kitchen and bathroom. Very traditional in style but cozy and clean. The space has some local quirky details which is interesting. Towels are provided. Kitchen is equipped enough for some light meal. The village is small but lovely, not the touristy type and from the village, you can see beautiful mountain and valley view. There is a small supermarket within walking distance but close early. Minutes drive to a few smaller villages and town near by. The host couple and their staff are very friendly and hospitable. Note that they speak mainly Italian, some German and very little English. I speak mostly English, very little German and no Italian at all, but we ended getting along just fine and managed some good laugh. All in all - i feel warm in my heart and my belly when I think about this place.

Everything we ordered was absolutely incredible! The food, the wine, the service was all immaculate. It’s a very intimate restaurant with delicious food and unbeatable views! Would highly recommend and we’re planning on going again tomorrow :)
