We came to Hotel Eden with the right expectations, and it turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The hotel has several key strengths that made our time there genuinely pleasant. First and foremost, it is impeccably clean — from the rooms to the bathrooms and the restaurant, everything was spotless and well-maintained. The bathroom was modern, spacious, and functional, while the room itself, though rather spartan, featured a beautifully fragrant wooden ceiling that added a warm, natural touch. The overall room size and bathroom fixtures were in line with what you'd expect from a four-star hotel. Service throughout our stay was friendly and helpful. The furnishings are simple and functional — a plain wooden table, a wooden bench, and very comfortable, clean beds with fresh linens — though USB charging ports or modern technical features were noticeably absent. While it’s not a hotel offering luxury or high-end amenities, it delivers exactly what an active traveler needs: a clean, quiet place to rest and recover after a day spent hiking or cycling in the surrounding mountains. Breakfast was a typical Swiss affair: straightforward, fresh, and well-executed, though limited in variety — focused on local comfort food rather than indulgence. The hotel’s dinner restaurant offers satisfying Italian dishes. It’s not fine dining, and it doesn’t showcase local Grisons specialties, but the food was tasty and served in a modern, relaxed environment. What truly elevates Hotel Eden is its location: It offers stunning views up and down the valley. Sleeping with the window open, breathing in the crisp alpine air, and waking up to that breathtaking mountain scenery was a highlight in itself. All in all, Hotel Eden is a great choice if you're looking for a clean, reliable, and peaceful base to support an active holiday in one of Switzerland’s most beautiful regions.
First time for me and my family to visit Switzerland. We are originally camping around in Europe, but wanted to sleep on a hotel for one night - so we chose Eden. ➕ Very beautiful view from the rooms. We had one room in 6th floor and one in 9th floor. ➕ Big and spacious rooms. ➕ The rooms came off as clean and neat. ➕ There were stores, restaurants, bakeries and much more close to the hotel. ➕ Parking on the side of the hotel. ➕ Friendly staff at the hotel. ➖ I have seen other reviews saying the breakfast was really generous and good, but I must say i’m not impressed. Maybe this is the standard in other countries than in my country. But I think there was a lot missing to call it a “hotel breakfast”. There was not much to choose between, and the bacon was very tough. But after all we all got to eat something we liked. ➖I know not all hotels have a minibar or an ice cube machine, but for me that does a lot. Especially in countries where the weather can be very hot in the summer i think it is a must. Otherwise you have to drink lukewarm drinks. So since this hotel did not have either I will drawn it down a bit because of that and the breakfast.
Very expensive hotel considering the service and surrounding noise. We were woken up well before 7 a.m. by extremely loud construction work just outside. At night, it was impossible to sleep with the window open due to the constant noise from trains and traffic. On top of that, we were unpleasantly surprised to be charged 4 CHF for tap water at the restaurant — something that was not mentioned beforehand. Parking also cost 7 CHF. No gesture was made to compensate for these inconveniences. We will never come back, and we are officially crossing Switzerland off our list of holiday destinations.
