Hotel Weiss Kreuz : Neudorfstrasse 50, 7430 Thusis

Spent New Year’s Eve here. Nice room, don’t be put off if you get one facing the street, you won’t hear the traffic. Very professional and friendly staff, you can tell they have experience with international guests. There is a nice lounge on the top floor with excellent views. Had Dinner a la carte, not their special nye eve set meal and was very pleasantly surprised. Food is regional, seasonal, some of it with an international twist (regionally raised salmon on what I assume to be Tom Yam-spiced risotto). But also more traditional fare like Sauerbraten on mash. The beef for this comes from a local (ultra-bio) farm and you can taste that. A great place to break up your journey across the San Bernardino. Worth a detour for the restaurant if you‘re in the general area.

Despite it being very busy on Swiss Day, this Hotel was able to find a very nice room for the girls on our trip and even allowed us to store some of our luggage in their storage room the next day. Beautiful atmosphere and kind employees!
