We came to Gotha as a group of nine, excited to enjoy what was supposed to be one of the best dinners of our trip. We genuinely don’t understand what went wrong. We chose this restaurant based on its glowing reviews and had high expectations, especially as it was our only dinner in town. Sadly, the experience turned out to be a disappointment. The starters were a letdown, both the tuna tataki and seabass ceviche were underwhelming in taste and freshness. The bread served at the beginning was stale, and the arancini, offered as a chef’s treat, tasted below average and lacked texture or flavor. For mains, the risotto and tortelli were passable, but nothing memorable. The gnocchi was overcooked and mushy, and the calamari was so oversalted it was nearly inedible. The only redeeming part of the evening was the service. The staff were attentive, polite, and truly tried their best to make us comfortable.
